4D Design Using Innovative Software

At PHS Bathrooms, we are proud to have the UK’s first virtual reality 4D theatre in-house, allowing our clients to step into their new bathroom, viewing all of their chosen products in an exclusively made design. Our free design service uses advanced Virtual Worlds software designed to bring future rooms to life, offering clients the chance to see how their new bathroom will look ahead of the installation. From here, clients are free to make any amendments to the layout, change products or play around with colour schemes, ensuring that the end product is exactly as they envisioned.

Our Partnership With Virtual Worlds

Virtual Worlds are a division of Logicom Computer Services Ltd, a company that provide electronic visual solutions for many industries. Their HQ is based in Milton Keynes, very close to where we happen to be, making it easier than ever to access the latest advancements in their technology.

So how do we use Virtual Worlds? Using the software, we build a visual representation of our future projects. This not only allows you to view the room in front of you on a screen but through a VR headset, you can step virtually into your new space – you will even be able to test how some of the shower screens and furniture units open and close! Couple this with the hundreds of display items that can be incorporated into your design, and you have the freedom to personalise every aspect of your new space to your style, requirements and budget.

The 4D Design & Planning Process

Creating your dream bathroom has never been easier, and we always strive to ensure that our client’s needs are met at every stage of the project. When opting for our innovative design and planning services, here is what to expect from the process:

1. Visit Our Showroom

During your initial showroom visit, you can browse through over 100 displays from more than 30 leading brands, putting together a list of products you would like to see in your design.

2. Take Measurements

Once you have chosen your favourite products, we will arrange for a member of our team to visit your home to take measurements of the bathroom space you plan to renovate.

3. Create Custom Design

Using your selected products, along with your bathroom specifications, our Design and Sales team will put a custom-made design together to replicate how your space will look upon completion.

4. Return For Virtual Experience

You will then be invited to pop back to our showroom at a time and date that best fits your schedule to view your new bathroom, make any changes and begin finalising your design.

Frequently Asked Questions

More information on our bathroom supply, design and installation services can be found on our FAQs. If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact us or visit our showroom, which is open seven days a week.

Will my chosen products fit in my bathroom?

We offer a free planning service within the Milton Keynes area, which allows us to take accurate measurements of the room to confirm that your chosen products will fit. We will look at the existing space, from which we can assess what type of products that will be the most beneficial to you. We understand that your bathroom may be the smallest room in your house, so we will try and make the most of the space. If you are planning on heading to the showroom, we always find it helpful if you bring along a rough pencil drawing with overall room dimensions to give us an idea of how much space we have to work with.

What can I have in my bathroom?

We have access to a multitude of different bathroom products. If you know the name or style of the products you would like to incorporate into your design, we can help source them. For those looking for something completely new, we can work with you to piece together options to suit your taste. We appreciate that changing your bathroom can be difficult as you are spoilt for choice, so we will try and make the process a lot easier by offering you the solutions to your problems. A visit to the showroom will allow you to see a huge selection of products that are on display.

How much will my new bathroom cost?

Every bathroom is unique, so it can be tricky to give you an exact costing until we have assessed your requirements and developed an accurate specification with you. We recommend visiting the showroom to see what product ranges interest you and form a project budget you are comfortable with. We have a range of products on display at different price points, all with different benefits, so we are sure we can find something to accommodate any bathroom and any budget.

How long will the overall bathroom renovation process take?

The amount of time spent in the showroom depends on the scale of your project. Appointments can take as little as half an hour if you already have a good idea of what you are looking for. Alternatively, if you are unsure about your bathroom, we are happy to spend as much time with you until you are comfortable and confident with your choices. Order times vary from product to product; we recommend allowing 3-4 weeks from placing the order to receiving your delivery. Singular items can be sourced more quickly, and special order items will take longer than this, but we will advise you of the lead time before you place your order.

How can I get started on my bathroom refurbishment?

Hopefully, you have seen a few examples of products, and you have some ideas in mind. You may have overall dimensions, and you may have a timescale in mind for your bathroom project. The next thing to do is get in touch via phone or email – details can be found on our contact page. You can book an appointment with a friendly and knowledgeable member of the team who will be happy to guide you around the showroom and answer all of the questions you may have.

Wetrooms vs Walk-in showers

A wetroom has a floor sloped towards the drain, there is usually no raised shower tray and creates an open-plan look which is perfect for accessibility and high-end luxury. A walk-in shower typically uses a very low-profile shower tray and one or two glass screens. While they offer a similar “open” feel to a wet room, they don’t require the entire room to be tanked, making them a faster and often more budget-friendly installation.

Do I need planning permission for a bathroom?

Generally, no. However, there are situations where you will need to obtain planning permission or consent from your freeholder. While you might not need planning permission, you must comply with UK Building Regulations. We highly recommend seeking guidance from your local council about planning permission before starting your project.
