This spacious, modern, family bathroom was the final renovation of three rooms we commissioned for our client in Buckingham. Our previous case studies have featured their en-suite and their downstairs cloakroom. Read on to see how we designed their final room, which we also supplied and installed for our client.
We had the pleasure of renovating three rooms for our client in Buckingham including their cloakroom, family bathroom and master bedroom ensuite.
In our recent case study, we showcased their modernised cloakroom and their master bedroom en-suite. Today’s case study highlights their main family bathroom. All three rooms were designed by Chris, PHS Bathrooms owner and designer, and were supplied and installed by our highly skilled fitting team.
Throughout their home, our client expressed their wishes to Chris that they wanted each newly renovated room in their home to have the same style and design.
With the knowledge that they wanted a separate bath and shower in their new family bathroom, as well as ample storage around the room, Chris created the designs and invited our client back to the showroom to go through them and to discuss their options. During this meeting, any final amendments were made, and once they were happy with the final designs, their bathroom was ordered.

In their final design, our client opted for a large walk-in shower, with a separate bath and plenty of storage.
Starting with their spacious walk-in shower, they chose the 1500mm Merlyn Arysto shower panel, with an Impey wetroom and a Hansgrohe Pulsify shower head – similar to the one they chose in their en-suite. This shower uses up to 60% less water than conventional models, which reduces energy costs. It also comes with shower controls to set the power of the water to suit the user.
A wet room works by having the floor of the shower installed to allow the water to flow seamlessly into the waste drainage, disallowing flooding and puddles.
To implement storage into their new family bathroom, they opted for a wall hung three-drawer vanity unit from Roca, finished in the shade Anthracite Grey which suited the colour theme of the room perfectly. Complete with soft close mechanisms on the drawers, this was a modern addition to the room.
Above the vanity unit, an illuminated Attrium HIB, recessed mirror cabinet was installed. This innovative storage solution elevates the atmosphere of any modern bathroom. A simple wave of the users’ hand activates the lighting, which can be altered in colour by holding your hand underneath the sensor to transition the LED mirror though its available colour temperatures of a cool white to a warm glow. Concealed in the interior of the cabinet are glass shelves as well as electric shaver and USB charging sockets.
Also from Roca, in the same Anthracite Grey shade, a wall mounted cabinet with ample interior storage was installed, to enhance the optimum storage in their busy family bathroom.
On the other side of the room, they had a Waters bath installed. This bathtub, with its beautifully curved corners, fitted seamlessly into corner of the room, whilst sitting comfortably below the window. The brassware was installed on the corner of the bath, to allow for best user experience and convenience.
Their tiling choices were the same as the tiles they used in their previous two rooms. In this room, they had the vertically placed Lexington Maple wood effect tiles installed on the entire back wall. The remainder of the tiles in the room were the Durango Acero Porcelanosa tiles.
To complete their room, a 100% stainless steel towel warmer from Jis was installed, providing a stunning modern look with plenty of space to dry and warm towels.
The overall aesthetic of the bathroom is contemporary and clean, with a modern colour palette and well-chosen materials, blending luxury and practicality which suited our client’s personal style perfectly.
